In our great neighbourhood of La Perle we have many people who stand out as a great neighbour. They shovel the sidewalk for the whole street, they are always willing to look after your home, plants or pets when you are away, they babysit your children or drive you to appointments. These individuals are real Gems!
We are offering a new spirit of recognition for these neighbours – and would like your nominations for our La Perle Genuine Gem Award.
Each newsletter will honour one of our great neighbours. To submit a nominee for this award, please fill out the following information and send it to the address noted.
Two people will be recognized in our next newsletter. They will also receive a small gift from the Community League.

For
health reasons for our rink operators and for the safety of our users of the
areas inside the rink boards during the non-winter usage, PLEASE - DO NOT
RUN YOUR DOGS in the boarded rink area.
Are
you uncertain what the rules are for walking dogs in the City of Edmonton
? The
City of Edmonton
has very specific rules for dogs set out in the Animal Licensing Bylaw and
the Parkland Bylaw. Rules for dogs are in place for the safety of your
community and the safety of your pet. It’s
pretty simple…
·In
the City of
·You
must clean up your pet’s defecation.
·You
can walk your dog on parkland so long as your dog is:
─
- leashed and on
a trail;
─
- leashed
and on a boulevard; ─ - leashed and in an area governed by signage permitting dogs (our rink area is off limits).
Outside of designated off-leash areas, dogs must by on a leash at all
times.
For
everyone’s safety and at all times,
dogs must be kept at least 10 metres from any playground, sports
field or picnic site. Your dog must be on a leash no longer than 2 metres in
length.
